Amnesia Haze vs Auto Amnesia Haze

Amnesia Haze is a sativa dominant strain, that is available as photoperiod and autoflowering seed. Each of these has its own pros and cons. In this article, we have gathered all of the important information, to make your choice easier.

Is Amnesia Haze feminized seed and why?

Yes, both versions of Amnesia Haze – photoperiod and autoflowering, are feminized. The seeds are feminized, because female plants are overall more popular and provide high quality buds, that are rich with cannabinoids. If a plant turns out to be a male, it will not produce such buds. It will produce small buds, that are filled with pollen, that fertilizes the female buds. If they fertilize the female buds, they will contain seeds and less percentage of THC and other cannabinoids.

What is the difference between photoperiod and autoflowering Amnesia Haze seed?

The main difference is in the way they begin the flowering phase. With photoperiod strains, a change in the lighting schedule needs to be made, to start flowering phase. Autoflowering strains on the other hand, will begin this phase according to their age. Therefore, they take less time to deliver yield, but are smaller in size, since they do not take as much time to grow.

The autoflowering version of Amnesia Haze will deliver yield much quicker, but it is much smaller and less potent. But the buds do have a similar taste and aroma, compared to photoperiod version. Because they are both sativa dominant strains, the effects are quite similar.

Amnesia Haze family tree

Amnesia Haze is the second version of the original Amnesia Haze. It originates from Afghani Hawaiian, Laos sativa and Jamaican sativa. Afghani Hawaiian is indica strain, the other two are pure sativa strains, so the sativa dominance originates from them.

Auto Amnesia Haze is a product of our Amnesia Haze and an unknown ruderalis strain. This ruderalis strain has granted quick yields and made this plant small, sturdy, and resistant. Therefore, it is a bit easier to grow.

Amnesia Haze can be grown indoors or outdoors. After sprouting the seed and having a seedling, vegetative phase begins. In this phase, the branches and leaves will grow and make a base for buds, that will develop in flowering phase. In vegetative phase, the ideal temperature for the plant to develop is between 22 and 26 oC and humidity between 40 and 60 %. If grown indoors, the ideal lighting schedule for this phase is 18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness. Blue spectrum light is recommended. You should add the nutrients as the plant needs them but keep a consistent feeding schedule. You should also water the plant regularly, but always check how moist the soil is. You do not want to overwater the plant. Keep it in a pot, that has a good drainage. Vegetative phase can last anywhere from 3 to 16 weeks.

When you want the flowering phase to begin, switch the lighting schedule to 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness. It is recommended to use red spectrum light. In this phase, 18 to 26 oC are ideal, with 40 to 50 % of relative humidity. The plant will probably need a higher dosage of nutrients, so keep out an eye for that.

Indoors, Amnesia Haze usually finishes its flowering period after 10 to 13 weeks. It produces from 600 to 800 grams per square meter. Outdoors, it finishes and is ready to be harvested in October. It usually produces anywhere from 1000 to 1500 grams per plant. Because this plant produces so many buds, keep in mind that it will probably need some extra support. Otherwise, the branches will break and reduce overall yield. It reaches medium to tall in height.

How to grow autoflowering Amnesia Haze?

When it comes to Auto Amnesia Haze, you can expect it to finish its flowering period after 7 to 8 weeks, when grown indoors. There, it usually produces around 400 grams per square meter. Outdoors, the plant is ready to be harvested after 11 weeks and produces from 60 to 200 grams (per plant). It can reach anywhere from 70 to 160 centimetres in heights.
