Chronic Monster XXL is a feminized photoperiod seed, meaning it will only produce female plants, and needs lighting adjustment to help it switch to flowering phase.
It is a mixture between indica and sativa. Because of many years of cross breeding different types of strains, pure indicas or sativas are almost impossible to be found. But strains like this provide the best of both worlds – strain that provides quick and big yields with amazing effects and overall potency.
This strain has an impressive family tree. Its first ancestors were Colombian, Mexican and Thai sativa, mixed with Afghani indica. Those are some of the original prude landraces, but sadly, unknown hybrids, that are found in many other strains. The final cross, that resulted in Chronic Monster XXL, contained Northern Light, Skunk x Northern Light and AK47.
The plant can be grown indoors or outdoors. Indoors, the flowering period ends after 8 to 9 weeks, and the plant can produce around 600 grams per square meter. Outdoors, the plant will finish the flowering phase around October, and it can produce up to 700 grams per plant. This is one of the larger yielding varieties. This medium height, not too dense, plant is the perfect combination of good yield and excellent quality. This strain does not respond well to topping. This strain needs extra attention to dry it thoroughly after harvest to maintain its subtle fragrance.
This strain has a subtle and gentle aroma and taste. But these beautiful, crystal covered buds, can contain up to 21 % of T and a medium amount of C. Its effects are more leaning towards indica, since it gives more of a “body high“, making you more tired. It can also stimulate appetite. It is more suitable for night time use.
This plant is popular for its combination of appearance and sweet smell. It grows a single huge central bud with few side branches. It is mild, developing a sweet smell while flowering.
