Red Russian XXL

Red Russian XXL is a beautiful strain that yields pretty powerful buds. Its ancestors are some of the most popular strains, such as White Widow, AK-47, the ancient Afghani indica and many more. Those provided this super potent strain that provides amazing effects.

Is Red Russian XXL feminized seed?

Yes, all of our seeds are feminized. Feminized seeds are 99.9 % sure to develop into female plants. Female plants are more popular because they produce THC rich buds. If female plants come in contact with male plants, the buds will contain seeds and less cannabinoids.

What is the difference between photoperiod and autoflowering Red Russian XXL seed?

The main difference between those is that photoperiod Red Russian XXL will need change in lighting schedule, to switch to the flowering phase. Meanwhile, the autoflowering strain will do that on its own, based on its age.

The photoperiod Red Russian XXL is more distinct indica, than autoflowering version. That is because it has been mixed with ruderalis strain, that has contributed a fair amount of sativa genetics.

The autoflowering Red Russian XXL strain is smaller, more discreet and provides quick results, that are pretty similar to the photoperiod Red Russian XXL version. The growers have reported that autoflowering version is super sturdy and resistant. Even though it grows smaller in size, it provides a pretty impressive yield, with high THC percentage.

Photoperiod version of Red Russian XXL is bigger, takes more time to deliver yield and needs a little bit more care. But at the end, yield is usually a lot bigger. Another advantage that photoperiod Red Russian XXL offers, is its ability to be cloned.

Red Russian XXLs family tree

As mentioned in the beginning, the family tree of Red Russian consists of many popular and legendary strains. Its ancient ancestors are Brazil, Mexican, Thai and Colombian sativa, and of course, Afghani indica, that took the wheel, and made this strain mostly indica. From those strains, White Widow and our AK-77V were crossed, and that resulted in White Russian. AK-77V, has its roots in the popular AK-47. White Russian was then improved, and so was our Red Russian XXL born.

The final mix to get the autoflowering strain, was between the photoperiod version of Red Russian XXL and the Lowryder #2. Red Russian XXL autoflowering strain has even more complicated family tree, thanks to Lowryder #2. It contains #1, #2 and #5 Northern Lights, #1 Skunk, Mexican Haze, Mexico ruderalis, Silver Pearl, Santa Maria and many more. Those strains mainly contributed the sativa genes into this originally mainly indica strain.
